AI vehicle descriptions

AI vehicle descriptions written from the vehicle, not the model name

An AI vehicle description is listing copy written by AI from one vehicle’s own specs. AutoLens writes a short Facebook Marketplace description for each vehicle using only the specs captured from your own listing: trim, engine, drivetrain, colour and equipment.

You decide how it reads: the length, the tone, your own header and footer, and what each listing covers. It never invents horsepower figures, warranty terms or title status. Your contact number and approved wording are added word for word after the AI is done.

How it works

Two stages: understand the vehicle, then write.

01

Build a profile of this vehicle

Before anything is written, AutoLens works out what the vehicle is from the fields you captured. It finds the segment, such as a full-size pickup, a compact SUV or a sport bike. It reads the drivetrain and engine as badged, and whether the trim is a base or a loaded one. It also weighs what the mileage means for the vehicle’s age, and picks the equipment worth mentioning. Each selling angle is only kept if a captured field supports it. A truck gets a traction angle only when 4x4 or AWD was actually on the page.

02

Write the listing from that profile

The writer gets the profile, your description settings and a strict set of rules. If a draft breaks a rule, it is rewritten before you ever see it. Your header, footer, any payment details and the contact number are then added exactly as you set them. The AI never paraphrases a promotion or a financial term.

Description settings

Your listings, in your dealership’s voice.

Length that fits your lot

Keep the standard short description, or set a word range anywhere from 50 to 500 words. Either way, the vehicle and its best detail go in the first lines buyers see on a phone before “See more”.

Tone and voice

Tune the tone, describe your dealership in a sentence, and add example listings you like. Examples shape the style only; facts always come from the vehicle.

Header and footer

Write your own, with fields like year, make and stock number filled in per unit. Rotate several versions so listings don’t repeat, or let the AI suggest one for you to approve.

What every listing covers

Choose the sections and their order, what to include, keywords that must appear, and words and phrases the AI must never use.

Different rules for different units

Set dealership defaults, then adjust them for cars, motorcycles, off-road units, boats, RVs or trailers. One unit can have its own settings too, and a blocked phrase can never be unblocked further down.

Preview, then save

Pick a real unit from your inventory and see its description before you save. It shows how the listing reads on a phone and in full, side by side with your current settings. Every save is versioned and can be restored.

Real output

Three descriptions, straight from the generator.

Demo vehicles run through the same generator dealers use, on its standard short setting, on 28 September 2026. Shown exactly as written, without a contact line.

The rules

What the AI is not allowed to write.

Every draft is checked against these rules before you see it.

  • No horsepower, torque, towing, payload, fuel-economy or range figures that weren’t on your page.
  • No warranty, financing, vehicle-history or title claims. Those are yours to make, in writing.
  • No equipment that wasn’t captured. A loaded trim with no feature list gets plain copy, not a guessed one.
  • No comparisons with other vehicles and no general facts recalled about the model.
  • No markdown or symbols that Marketplace would show as stray asterisks.
  • Instructions hidden in scraped page text are filtered out, so a web page can’t steer the writer.
Payments and your own line

Promos and payments, exactly as you approved them.

Many dealers want a standing line on every listing, such as a financing offer or a disclaimer. Add it once in Settings and AutoLens places it under the description on every listing, word for word. The AI never sees it, so it can’t reword it.

For individual vehicles you can add a bi-weekly or monthly payment, the term, and optional rate and down payment. AutoLens shows the payment in the description with an automatically generated disclosure. The full price stays the price that is listed.

The contact number comes last, every time: either the salesperson’s own number or the dealership line that routes texts to the AI Responder.

Straight answers

What it doesn’t do.

Worth knowing before you decide, not after.

  • Pad thin listings

If a unit has little captured detail, its description comes out shorter than your minimum rather than filled with filler.

  • Rewrite listings already on Marketplace

Changing your settings refreshes unposted units before they’re posted. Listings that are already live keep the text they went up with.

  • Fill in missing facts

If your page doesn’t list the equipment, the description won’t either. Better data in means better copy out.

  • Replace your own disclosures

Advertising rules for price and payments are yours to meet. AutoLens adds your approved wording; it doesn’t decide it.

  • Write in French yet

Listing descriptions are written in English today.

FAQ

Questions dealers ask.

Which AI writes the descriptions?
Anthropic’s Claude, running through AutoLens’s own prompt and checks. Your inventory data is sent to generate the description and isn’t used for advertising.
Can I edit a description before it’s listed?
Yes. Every vehicle has an edit form in the dashboard where you can change the description before the listing goes up.
Can I control how long the descriptions are and how they sound?
Yes. Owners and managers set the length, tone, header, footer and content in Settings → Listing descriptions. They can preview the result on a real unit before saving. Until you save settings, AutoLens keeps writing its standard short description.
Will two similar trucks get the same description?
No. Each description is written from that unit’s own trim, colour, mileage and equipment, so vehicles that differ read differently.
Does it work for motorcycles, sleds and boats?
Yes. Powersports dealerships get the right vocabulary, like units and test rides, and the writer describes what each unit is for. See AutoLens for powersports dealers.
Where does the vehicle information come from?
From your own vehicle page via the AutoLens Chrome extension, from your inventory feed, or from the details you enter by hand.
Can I export descriptions for a spreadsheet?
Yes. Selected listings can be exported to CSV with their generated descriptions.

Descriptions from the vehicle, not the brochure.

Bring a vehicle page from your website and we’ll generate its description on the call.
